Burlington Northern rose $20.93 or 27.5 percent, to $97.00.
CSX rose $3.13 or 7.3 percent, to $45.97.
Canadian National rose $1.33 or 2.7 percent, to $49.99.
Canadian Pacific rose $1.85 or 4.2 percent, to $45.53.
Kansas City Southern rose $1.71 or 7.1 percent, to $25.79.
Norfolk Southern rose $2.52 or 5.4 percent, to $49.15.
Union Pacific rose $4.35 or 7.9 percent, to $59.41.
